Dear Fellow-labourers,
The Lord has been good to us during this past month and we would like to share with you some answers to prayer.

We rejoice in a new son “Dale William” born April 12th. Louise is very well and for but the doctor’s precautions would be back at language study already. Dale is approx. 7 lbs. and looks a bit like Philip did when he was that age. Louise is able to feed the baby for which we are very thankful as a good supply of milk would have been a problem here. We are also thankful that the baby does not have colic as Philip had. When one is studying language it is quite necessary to have regular sleep and it appears we will not miss too much during these first months. We had a good doctor and nurse living in our house and the clinic was right next door. The baby was born three days before we had our Easter holidays which meant that I did not miss much study time. All things have worked our [sic] to our advantage and we do praise Him for his goodness to us. We pray that we shall be the parents He would have us be.

We asked you to pray concerning more room for us. There has been a general change between our two mission homes here and we now have two rooms with small verandahs instead of the one. It worked out very nicely a I can keep Philip in one room while Louise and the baby rest. We also have a girl come in for the afternoons to do the baby washing, cleaning and the occasional looking after Philip. This frees us for study and we will probably be able to get in as many hours of study as before.

My class at Isobe continues. Numbers have dropped since some of the younger ones have lost interest. One more young man is attending and showing a real interest. His name is Mr. Obinata. I contacted him while on the train going to Tokyo. Mr. Horikoshi, the 19 yr. old sericulturist, continues to show interest. Last Sunday I spent 2 hours with him after class studying the doctrine of God. His background is Shintoist and as with most Japanese thorough teaching re. the doctrine of God and the doctrine of Christ must precede and [sic] an intelligent acceptance of Christ as Saviour. Pray much for this young man that he might soon be soundly converted.

The language still demands the same daily discipline and thus continued prayer for grace.

Last week we had word from a lady in the States who prays continually for us. This letter will be going to her. Our names are on the missionary prayer list in her church.

The Lord has been good to us has he not? Thank you sincerely for your prayers, they have not been in vain nor unanswered. We also pray for you and appreciate letters which help us in our praying.

Spring is almost here. Because of the altitude Karuizawa is almost a month behind the rest of Japan but in a week or so all trees will be in leaf.

Trusting that this finds you well and experiencing that His will is perfect.

Sincerely in Christ,
Lea & Louise Little
